HUGO VEGA DIXIT: “La serie se centra en las aventuras de dos primos: Bo Duke (John Schneider) y Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) quienes recorren a toda velocidad el condado de Hazzard (ubicado «al este del Mississippi y al sur del Ohio») con su auto color naranja al que llaman «General Lee», un Dodge Charger modelo 1969. Tienen problemas con la justicia corrupta que impera en sus pagos, comandada por el sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane (James Best) que encubre los malos pasos del dueño del pueblo, Jefferson Davis «Boss» Hogg (Sorrell Booke). Los primos Duke tienen ayuda de su tío Jesse (Denver Pyle), su bella prima Daisy (Catherine Bach) y del ayudante del sheriff Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer), honesto y enamorado de Daisy. La atmósfera sureña de la ambientación (remarcada por la voz del relator en off de los capítulos) y las persecuciones en auto son el condimento para el éxito (principalmente entre el público adolescente) de esta serie filmada entre 1979 y 1985” (La magia 4)
